{Tested Again [continued (7)]}[28th March 1990]

[Redbook7:109][19900328:2345]{Tested Again [continued (7)]}[28th March 1990]

.2345

At some stage, after [the Assistant] Bishop […] had asked me about my work,* and I had told him that I had disposed of the sheep (It seemed rather boastful to say that we had given them away), he commented: ‘Business complications?’ I assured him not.

But at another stage, towards the end, I am sure I heard him say that I clearly (or certainly?) had a vocation.** This, of course, is what the [Diocesan Selection] Board want me to test next time.

*[The implication of this in its context (last six previous entries [Redbook7:104-114][19900328:1738]{Tested Again}[28th March 1990]ff) is that this refers to the Diocesan Selection Board interview (see[Redbook7:104-114][19900328:1738]{Tested Again}[25th March 1990]ff) and not to the meeting referred to in [Redbook7:88][19900315:1716b]{The Assistant Bishop}[15th March 1990]]

**(Did the Archbishop say the same? Or not?)

[– Presumably, if at all, at the meeting referred to in [Redbook6:324-325][19891016:1169c]{English Bishops, Registry Office Weddings}[16th October 1989]]
