My chief objection to the purpose which certainly seems to want me to go into the Church, and the objection which lasted longest, was always the prospect of conflict involving me, with and within the Church. (Thinking back on some of the Church dreams* in earlier times, in London, I can see why.)

[W], bless her and Love her, said as soon as she returned that I should apply again next year: that we should do everything else as planned, ie try to sell this house and move, but apply again.
