The – almost unconscious – decision to stop seeking publication for my *fiction has been un-bitter. It is made easier by publisher’s acknowledgement that the last fiction, [2], is thoroughly enjoyable, and well-written.** My writing is going to become more religious, not less, and even if a publisher was willing to publish it, I no longer trust the industry to do right by spiritual fiction.

*[In fact fiction and non-fiction were subsequently published – short fiction in an Arts Council subsidised journal, and non-fiction articles in local newspapers. Long fiction was independently published in electronic form, resulting in a tiny income up to the date of posting of this journal entry]
