We are looking** for two particular types of event:

(1) Crises C over a short period, of the proper kind involving a division or parting of ways – not easy to identify,*** but [TS] Eliot seems to have found one.**** Each C is likely to be a[n] A~ of the next larger cycle, the larger cycle to which its cycle will be most closely related, so the same split should appear as the start of a more gradual (but ultimately more devastating) process in the A of the larger cycle.

(2) Clearly identifiable sectors of change over a period of time, J~# being the most obvious, and, similarly, settled periods exhibiting particular characteristics, j~# being another example.
