The
answer,* of course, is plain in circle terms – that they are almost
100% Outer Circle people themselves and that the selfishness and
self-centred-ness which brings that about, when carried to extremes,
projects itself outwards onto other people, the nearest the mostest
[sic],
and particularly onto their children who will from the earliest years
tend (whatever later rebellious periods may suggest) to imitate their
parents’ example.
I
suppose that an eldest son is to that type of person bound to be a
sort of flagship for the sublimation of their ambitions and the
vicarious relief of their suppressed sense of failures [sic]
in their own terms – to do well, to be respected, to make money.
And the self-will of such people is so strong that it never occurs to
them that Nature has its own ideas for everybody – people (this is
typical of the Thatcherite small-businessman ethos) are ** not
Individuals who should be encouraged to develop according to their
own qualities and talents, but fodder for the manipulator’s
World-plan, however grandiose or petty that plan is.
