In fact, of course, about the only thing we know with some certainty about Jesus’ life was [sic] that he was born at the beginning of it, and crucified and resurrected* at the end of it. It also seems likely that he was baptised by John** at the beginning of his mission.

The baptism, like the Lucan*** nativity, fits the start of the inner circle; the crucifixion and resurrection fit the end of the outer circle, transformation, re-start of the inner circle.

Everything else is speculation about the structure of the Gospels rather than the structure of Jesus’ life.

*[sic; NB. See earlier discussions as to what the resurrection may have been or involved, eg:
[Redbook6:98-99)][19890219:1218f]{Jesus}[19th February 1989];
[Redbook6:135][19890531:2218c]{The Resurrection of Christ}[31st May 1989];
[Redbook6:179][19890801:1706]{Categories of Truth}[1st August 1989]]

**[the Baptist; ie not the Evangelist (to whom John’s Gospel is traditionally attributed), the Apostle, the Presbyter, or John of Patmos]

***[ie in the Gospel according to Luke]
