In
this analysis,* the first one (so far as I recall) that seems to make
some sort of sense, the disassociation [sic]**
of sensibility (thought and feeling)*** emerges simply as one part of
the Enlightenment, which with the Reformation and the Renaissance, in
the present Christian cycle, represents both the revolution on the
outer circle (G~) and the triumph of Faith and
Reason on the inner circle. In the quarter cycle of Western
civilisation which began c2000 years BC[E], this is the more extreme
stage | s~/R~.

This
analysis, which may or may not be valid, does not reveal any general
pattern of doublings (or halvings) in sequential period lengths.****
Actually, this unpredictability makes a certain amount of sense. If
Individuals are at their most free around C to affect the nature of
the rest of the cycle, they may by their choices be free to affect
its duration as well – and so the same may apply to institutions.
