[Redbook6:147][19890709:2330]{‘The
Kingdom of God is within you.’}[9th July 1989]
.2330
‘Asked
by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God was to come, he gave them
this answer,
“The
coming of the kingdom of God does not admit of observation and there
will be no one to say, ‘Look, it is here! Look, it is there!’
For
look, the kingdom if God is

among
you.
|
|
|
|
within
your grasp.

\

within
you.[”]*
|
‘As
something already present and active, the alternative translation,
‘”within your grasp”, is attractive; a third possibility,
“within you” would not furnish as direct an answer to the
Pharisee’s question.’

*‘Within

N[ew]
E[nglish] B[ible] also gives ‘among you’, noting other options.
Why
make the change now,
for God’s sake?
