Evil,
therefore,* is not only a state of mind (mens rea, in the common
law)** rather than an action (actus rea);** being an exercise of
will, (Ordination) away from the Spirit of God – it is specifically
a conscious
state of mind.
The
Unconscious,*** whose parameters we will almost certainly never be
able to define,**** cannot be, think or do evil, and no creature of
wholly unconscious motivation can be, think or do evil.
