*I have been perplexed by the distinction of evil from material, or matter. If the transformation between Matter and Spirit is that between the Spirit veiled and unveiled – with the Quality distinguishing Souls one from another, as physical properties distinguish types of matter – where does Evil arise?

I think that Evil is to be distinguished from Matter simply by motivation.** Creation is separated from God the Spirit by the will [sic] or Ordination of God the Spirit. Within Creation, God’s and their own Love draws Spirits and their Souls back towards God the Spirit. But Individual Spirits*** may of their own will separate themselves from God the Spirit. This is Evil. I mean this in a mechanical sense: this is what we call Evil. It is out of place here to say that it is evil in the sense wrong, immoral, since this is how we define wrong, and any system of morality not based on this is empty, baseless.
