I had also* hunted out a sexually-oriented story called ‘[...]’, with the intention of destroying it: the actions it describes were on the borderline of acceptable immorality even when it was written, and now are way beyond it; and I doubt whether they are appropriate to the archetypal character involved (+Mk, rather? – But +M did make a habit of heterosexuality in these stories and poems, and he is the epitome of maleness; perhaps his present relative chastity signifies not so much an inhibition on my part as his manifestation at a higher level).** But should I destroy ‘[...]’? Right or wrong, sacred and/or profane (and I have not re-read it now), it marks a stage in my own development.***

I found a delightful story ‘Report from Tregenella’,**** about a [devotedly married] rugby-playing parish priest in a new ward-village, dealing with [the consequences of his own] pacifism, {with}# the Welsh (and Gaelic) languages, and {with}# affectionate young people whose attitude to love and sex is, thanks largely to the efforts of himself and others like him,#* far more open and natural than is his own. But even this innocent story would, I guess, be suspect now….#**

*[See last previous entry, 1st para]

**[cf +K from [0] to [1] (as originally drafted; subsequently revised)]

***[ms not found, so probably destroyed, but presumably around 1972-1975 like all the other short fiction mss found filed together, ie written when the writer was in his early twenties]

****[ms dated 05/01/1975]

#*[Part of his job is to teach them, in school, ethics and morality.]

#**[Correct, certainly at the time of posting; much depends on the cultural assumptions with which it is read.]
