During the last six months or so I have spent a lot of time and energy going over my past life – from very early memories: in a negative way before Christmas, in a positive way since Christmas.

Towards the end of [2] I attempted to describe a personal and subjective vision of the progress of the Individual after Death (of the body), based on the Circles, xS's talks [in [2]], etc. (I hope that it was made clear that it was personal and subjective). One (tentative) possibility was that as the Spirit clothed in the Soul (no longer clothed in the Body) rose on the Outer Circle from the point of the First Death (Distraction) past Revolution, Archetype +K would fulfil her function as the Recording Angel (Gabriel*), and the Individual would, as it were, gather together from the impressions on the Soul the sum of his life on Earth.** (This is of course a process the beginning of which has been described by some of those who survived the danger of death – 'my whole life flashed before my eyes' – although perfectly adequate alternative explanations have been offered for the experience).

The Circles process after physical death is in theory intimately linked with the stage reached in the parallel Circles process before physical death: 'As below, so above'. It is curious that my fairly intense process of retrospection, for which also there are perfectly adequate explanations, should have occurred (as I realised for the first time recently) at the same approximate point on my presumed transit of the Circles – i.e. just between Outer +K (Revolution, the Hanged Man [Tarot] Card [TXII]) and Outer xS: Simplification, the Death [Tarot] Card [TXIII] – the Second Death, in xS's terms [in [2]], the Death of the Self from the Soul, for which – whether before or after the First or Physical Death – recollection or recall of the Individual's experiences is presumably required. Not that I have experienced anything like conscious total recall; but I have certainly recollected the framework of it (in planning future fictions), and the high and low points.

*Is Gabriel the Recording Angel? <891001> [Yes, apparently, in Judaic and therefore presumably Christian angelology, at least the principal recording angel.]

**This seems too early for +K's recall: I have wondered whether it might be a recollection preparatory to some kind of re-location or transmission away from the dying body? I don't, of course, know.
