The names which I attach to the Qualities are a form of shorthand, borrowed from the fiction. Each represents a 'bundle' of qualities and characteristics developed in 'Human' form through the fictions. It would be extremely difficult to identify the points concerned concisely without using these names as labels. To me, they each convey the Quality of an inner experience, something of which I have tried to convey (as they developed) within the fictions. But they can in any case be read here* simply as indicators of position. The only practical alternative I could think of – measurement by degrees, e.g. '45[degrees]', '270[degrees]', was too precise in its implications, contained a serious ambiguity** requiring an otherwise unnecessary value judgement for its resolution, and in any case, was too horrible to contemplate seriously.
