In mystical traditions, the apparent age of the ‘mystical’ object reflects not his or her actual age, but the spiritual age of the subject, the observer. So one would expect (it occurs to me now) Undines to appear most generally as female* children or young girls,* and perhaps ‘Sylphs’ as venerable and white-bearded men;** but at the most high point, +CI~, sex and age become indeterminate.***  There are, in any case, always likely to be exceptions, to this generalisation, as well as ‘stretches’ one way or the other.

For example, in the nature of things I would expect to find ‘Angels’ (ie of the most involved degree of the Ophanim) at every Degree of Qualities on the Circle, eg Salamanders, ‘Gnomes’ and even Sylphs as well as in between; and conversely, ‘Dominions’ at eg r~ as well as u~. How much this depends on the state of the Subject, and how much on other factors, is difficult for me to say.

*[Because on the ‘female’ side of the Circle – see recent previous Journal entries]

**[Because on the ‘male’ side of the Circle]

***[Because on one a meeting-point of the two sides of the Circle (although the exact gender division line has been discussed earlier); and the beginning and the end.]
