In outline, the narrative dream* had, I think, five stages:

(1) A future world, perhaps possible in a generation or two from now, clearly** dedicated largely to entertainment and instruction: we were in a kind of museum centre, in this case I think devoted to the Kennet and Avon Canal.*** But it was vast, and surrounded by a mixture of older and futuristic buildings in an inner city area (I had**** the strong impression that almost everything from the post[-]World War II period in the area had been torn down, and quite right too).
