I had wondered whether the waking intensity of this kind of experience* would mean that the equivalent dreams would no longer appear. What in fact I got this morning was a narrative dream, of a type which I do not recall having had for a long time.**

Incidentally it occurs to me that as my dreams of a significant kind generally seem to occur in the morning – and I vaguely remember reading somewhere that this is usual for this kind of dream – and as I often wake up in the morning with an erection – and I vaguely remember reading somewhere that this is also not uncommon – it would not be surprising if when the dreams involve unclad girls, the sexual state is projected onto the dream – ie it is not necessarily the other way round.***

It is also vaguely in my mind that when I have had – generally long ago – significant dreams of a more ‘Christ’-like or general experience, they have more commonly**** occurred in the middle of my sleeping period – mainly because I can remember on some occasions lying awake in the darkness in an altered psychological and/or physical state, before returning to sleep (and sometimes having forgotten some of it when I re-awoke).

***Don’t forget that some of the unclad girls in the dreams are distinctly nubile, ie physically developed. (UNCLAD sounds like a United Nations agency.) <880817>

Earlier accounts & analyses, & recollections, suggest that any sexual feeling or arousal occurs during awakening from the dream, not during the dream itself, which would also help to reduce the possibility that the dreams were actually due to the physical state – a conclusion which, in the circumstances, would be hard to bare [sic]. In the writer’s experience, sexual dreams or dream-fragments are sexual all the way through, are explicit, and do not have the sense of significance accompanying the type of dream discussed here.
