I am not sure whether I have noted previously the (possible) three phases of development: to perceive the Divine, first, in external phenomena (the Poetic, numinous phase); second, in internalised * representations of external phenomena (such as Art, Symbolism, and perhaps abstract inner sensation of an external type); third, in inner Qualities of an independent and dynamic kind.**
