This is simply a way of looking at possibilities. It is after all perfectly possible to argue that if the Self pulls the Soul and the Spirit outwards to the Outer Circle, the good influence of the Spirit should pour out over the Outer Circle aspects. My point is simply that from observation, logic and imagination, it doesn't work like that.

The 'Butterfly', Infinity or Eight symbol** represents, I suspect, the centre of Awareness, the centre (also) of the Mind, residing naturally 'between' the Self and the Soul. In the language of 'Fusion Child'***, Reason is outside this – Body and Brain – and Creation is inside – Spirit.

Each extreme pulls in the opposite direction: Material World outwards, Spiritual Kingdom inwards. Each Realm of these two has the predominant influence over the sections of the Cord within its area. The digram shows clearly how the Middle Zone of Men, in which the Awareness normally resides, is not a 'fixed' realm like the other two but moves with the Cord of Man's life: which is how Men are enabled to move inwards or outwards despite the influence of the predominating Circle.****
