But* True Love lies only beyond Death of the Self. This is true, not only of xS – whose quality of Love is found after her quality of Death – but also in all Human relationships.**

Incidentally, the Tarot card for xS's Love is XIV, Temperance, a girl transferring fluid from one vessel to another; and exactly three quarters of a circle – or nine months – after this, on the Inner Circle, the Tarot card (for Harmony) is XX, showing a ***naked child arising from a hole in the Earth between a Man and a Woman. One third of the way along this scale, at 3 months, card XVI shows lightning striking a tower; two thirds of the way along, at 6 months, card XVIII shows a scorpion-type creature (Harmony is at Scorpio) moving in the waters.****

It is possible to read the Circles in many different ways, or rather, as applying fundamentally in the same way to many different matters. Death of the Self might refer, for example, to a development after physical death; or before physical death but during spiritual development; or in an affair of true love.# There are strong analogies or parallels between these states. #*
