*Theodore Roszak in his review of Roger Penrose’s ‘The Emperor’s New Mind’** says of Penrose that: ‘He contends that the mind in all its higher functions remains radically mysterious. Its working is as much based upon aesthetic taste or “instantaneous judgement of inspiration” as on formal logic. Even in his own field of mathematics, Penrose believes that consensus is achieved when the individual mind “makes contact with Plato’s world of mathematical concepts”.’

This fits beautifully with many earlier C[ircles] A[nalysis &] S[ynthesis] attributions:

The point being that as higher Mathematicians and higher Scientists at c[irca] S~ follow the I[nner] C[ircle rotation, by C[ircles] A[nalysis &] S[ynthesis] they will be carried by**** C to r~, g~ &c. and to a greater wisdom and understanding of the A~ semicircle.#

There are, of course, still dangers of getting it wildly wrong.
