{Tarot Circles and Creation Tarot [continued (3)] – Knaves}[13th January 1988]

[Redbook4:325][19880113:1503d]{Tarot Circles and Creation Tarot [continued (3)] – Knaves}[13th January 1988]

.1503
[continued]

The second point* is the ambiguity (or versatility) of Knaves: which (i.e. who) still persist in referring to disparate ideas.** I think the thing they all have in common (now that the Spiritual Kingdom has become simply the nearest plane,*** instead of the first (as in Milton**** and Tolkien#)) is a fundamental, or relatively unrefined, character (It is possible that the (Outer?) Circle Principles belong here). You can expect Knaves to behave predictably, once you understand them, but not in accordance with Conscience: they either haven't got one (Outer Principles, Materials, Animals) or they aren't paying it any attention (Outermost Circle Men).

*[which follows from the last previous entry but one.]

#[in J.R.R. Tolkien's 'The Silmarillion', presumably.]
