is quite possible that the Court* scheme – King-Queen-Knight-Knave
– has a structure-symbolising function in a number of different
contexts. I still think that the earlier scheme** was the most
felicitous:

There
is no escaping from the conclusion that the Separation is constructed
from the bottom up, as it were: which makes some logical sense if its
purpose is to develop and refine something of value to, and therefore
presumably comparable in quality to, God. Two things follow from
this, at least possibly.#*
