{Cutting Cards}[13th January 1988]

[Redbook4:322-323][19880113:1107f]{Cutting Cards}[13th January 1988]

[continued]

Given the interpretation of the Sword,* where do swords and other sharp instruments occur in the main Tarots?

I
Magician
knife on table, + other symbols – he holds a rod (Fool has 2 – unformed cross?)
VI
Lover
arrow
VIII
Justice
sword upright
X
Wheel of Fortune
top figure has sword near-upright
XIII
Death
scythe.
XV
Devil
holds blade upright

The blades are all at vital points:

(Arrow)

TVI

(Scythe)

TXIII \

TXV
(Upright blade)

TVIII

TX

TI

(Knife on table)

[The ms diagram's square and diagonal indicators are symmetrical at 45o on both axes.]

In particular, the two upright blades are opposite each other and mark the start of the two Mantelpiece** columns sevens or 'Circles' (three-quarter circles or Arcs) which run from their 'Driving' cardinal point rather than from and to +C†I~. The only other straightish blades are the knife at TI, which is the beginning of the 1st 7 (Mantelpiece Row); and TX's leaning sword, which is at the same Circles point as TI.

[(]The arrow at TVI, of course, is a flying blade or point;*** the scythe at ~TXIII is a curving or turning blade, where you can turn.)
