I had expected to leave a gap (in time) between Volumes IV and V: just a matter of weeks, but enough to give the sense of a new start. But thick and fast they come at last....*

*[
...Four other oysters followed them,
And yet another four;
And thick and fast they came at last,
And more, and more, and more –
All hoping through the frothy waves,
And scrambling to the shore.
(– Lewis Carroll: The Walrus and the Carpenter.)
(– or perhaps more appropriately:
As thick as hail
Came post with post;....
(– William Shakespeare: MacBeth, Act I, Scene 3.))
