This* brings to mind, however, the theory of** one of my uncles that Cities generally have their prosperous side to the West and their poor side to the East. I suppose you could argue that if the Earth's rotation through Night and Day is Inner Circle, those engaged in Outer Circle activities in the making of money will tend to gravitate in the opposite direction.*** Traditionally the Huguenots and the Jews, both victims of religious persecution, arrived at different times in East London and as they prospered (through the generations) moved Westwards. But then, why did they come West in the first place? (Not all necessarily did, I presume.) It would be unwise to argue that those who move East in London nowadays do so for non-material reasons.
