The two extra cards* would perhaps be the 'Invisible Cards' in every Pack. It is not unusual for packs to have one or two 'blank' cards usually with the publisher's details and advertisements printed on them.** I notice, incidentally, that in my Marseilles pack, TVII 'The Chariot', just approaching one of the Cardinal positions and the first Circle card within its immediate influence, has 'S.M' initialled on the front of the chariot. I am tempted to read this as 'Saint Michel' (for example!)***. However, other packs do not seem to have letters, or have others – e.g. VR**** (18th century).
