Curious and anachronistic dream this morning, of the kind I used to have in our flat in London:* that we were in the flat trying to find more space in it;** there was another female involved, perhaps foreign.

After much to-ing and fro-ing, we found a possible little room*** in a lobby at the back on the floor above, which however was only doubtfully part of the flat; and I noticed that the garden was completely buried in builder’s rubbish, to the level of the floor above.

Finally I did find another room at the back (and noticed that the front room was bigger and more sub[-]divided than I had thought): the new back room was luxuriously kitted out with dark (but modern) furniture, but on top of a recessed manhole cover in the carpet there was a leakage of raw sewage.

(At this point I was woken up by the alarm radio.)
