[Redbook5:320-321][19880818:2010]{Non-existence
of the Circles}[18th
August 1988]

*It
is the old problem of letting visual symbols become ‘reality’. I
have been bothered** for some time by the idea of limitation of the
Spiritual Kingdom to the inside of a sphere….*** It should be
stated here and now and forever that the Circles DO NOT EXIST. What
they represent may well exist, of course, and the Circles may be the
best symbol or model I can come up with. And in theory, in the end
all existence comes to One. Nevertheless, symbols and models MUST
NOT be confused with Reality.
Inner
experience exists, and is a direct manifestation of Reality, even
though it may be clothed in the forms we give it (including symbolic
forms) and in theory also will be wrapped up into the One. The young
girl I was aware of,**** and from time to time still am – but
computer intervenes – may not exist physically, but she certainly
exists as an experience of vision and quality. But my suggestions as
to what she is are, of course, only guesses.
Interestingly,
– God, this does go on! – I wasn’t aware of her at all while
writing the aberration:# but I am now.

[W]
– who is in here now working on the computer – reveals to me that
it is my father’s birthday, and suggests that that is why my
writing went wrong. The old bugger probably wished [‘]confusion on
my eldest son[’]#*, when he cut his birthday cake (actually I doubt
if he had one).

**It’s
interesting to see how more and more bothered I was getting while
writing [[Redbook5:313][19880818:1145n]{Spherical

***rather
a mediaeval concept.
It
was entrancing: I saw it as a giant film set, with Spirits passing up
and down, and a kind of Mediaeval or ?Renaissance pattern of wings
spiralling round the edge of the Dome…. I should have realised.
