It is necessary to separate Virginity – which may be either a male or a female attribute or state, physical or mental – from Femininity, in Mary. Mary as Virgin – as surely as she once was – is of the type of M~, blue-cloaked, Queen of Heaven maybe,* but the type to cool the fevered brow, not inflame the passions. Mary as mother of a normally-conceived family – no longer a Virgin – assuredly she was not a virgin later (by Matthew XII.46-50, Mark III.31-35, Luke VIII.19-21:** the [New?] Jerusalem Bible's explanation that these may not actually be 'brothers', although compassionate, is unconvincing, to my mind, particularly in the context of the statement in Matthew XII.50**) – Mary as Mother is of the type of G~ (her friend from God), the 'scarlet woman' of {extreme} Protestant propaganda (I am told), and certainly one who would understand women's femininity from R~ (and beyond to J~ and beyond, from the Prophetess to the Prostitute, even though she would seem to be a type more of the first than the last.

This is perhaps the Mary whom St. Luke, appropriately enough, is describing: it is possible to be a virgin Goddess (like Diana?) not because chaste, but because not chased, i.e. simply too far beyond mortal conceptions of sexual intercourse to be considered even potentially available. (This, I suspect, is what happens to +K in [the narrator]'s eyes after the end of [0].

Matthew XII.46-50:
Authorised (King James) Version:
46 While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him. 47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. 48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? 49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
New English Translation:
46 While Jesus was still speaking to the crowds, his mother and brothers came and stood outside, asking to speak to him. 47 Someone told him, “Look, your mother and your brothers are standing outside wanting to speak to you.” 48 To the one who had said this, Jesus replied, “Who is my mother and who are my brothers?” 49 And pointing toward his disciples he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! 50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”
Mark III.31-35:
A(KJ)V:
31 There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him. 32 And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. 33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? 34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.
NET:
31 Then Jesus’ mother and his brothers came. Standing outside, they sent word to him, to summon him. 32 A crowd was sitting around him and they said to him, “Look, your mother and your brothers are outside looking for you.” 33 He answered them and said, “Who are my mother and my brothers?” 34 And looking at those who were sitting around him in a circle, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! 35 For whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.”
Luke VIII.19-21:
A(KJ)V:
19 Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press. 20 And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee. 21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.
NET:
19 Now Jesus’ mother and his brothers came to him, but they could not get near him because of the crowd. 20 So he was told, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you.” 21 But he replied to them, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it.”
