Serpent Rover}[3rd
January 1988]
19880103.1211
The
night before last, I became involved in some long and complicated
dream, whose details I forgot, with a long (and complicated) black
serpent – but unlike the Frozen Serpent of a dream* some years ago,
this one was slim, long, agile and friendly.
The
day before I had been rather taken with a suggestion that a neighbour
might sell me his Range Rover – new this year – in five years'
time, when it will have done probably only a few thousand miles, for
a couple of thousand pounds: its value new being between £17,000 and
£20,000. I have for years rather fancied having a Range Rover.**

Dream: The Frozen Serpent}[12th

**Not
long after this, I decided to spend £3,000 to £4,000, which we
could ill afford, on a second-hand {Toyota} Tercel 4WD Estate car;
only after test driving one incredibly badly did I finally give up
this crazy idea. A narrow escape! <880307>
