Purgatory and Paradise – [2] Purgatory}[6th

Purgatory,
like Hell,* is an essential part of the development of the Soul
towards God: it must be gone through before or after Death, in this
case before the 1st Death {([the death] of the Body)}or after the
Second Death (**[the death ]of the Self**) (not between them, I
think).
****The
spirit carries the unstained unselfish (part of the Soul back down
around the Inner Circle in order to refine it for fusion with God:
this process is meant to be done before the 1st
Death, but can be done after the Second Death.
Before
the 1st
Death, I guess (but do not know) that it has to do with re-entry into
the {(full)} Diversity of the Separated World, the inner aspect of
that Separation of which the outer aspect is Hell: but reversing the
former transit of Distraction. It may be that the Catholic notion of
'Good Works' is appropriate to Diversity; how this is paralleled
after the 1st
and 2nd
Deaths, by Spirit-borne Souls, is beyond me, but it might be as
simple as the performance of Angelic functions among those still
living corporeally in the Distraction (it is a common tradition that
recently dead ancestors have influence over# living Men).
