The inner bareness of such moments* is, I suspect, a pre-essential to the creation of Art (though not, of course, sufficient, God help me!), being the Emptiness of the Spirit out of which, and only out of which, Art can come.

I would always prefer a bare white (and perhaps black in parts) cell, to a room full of precious artefacts.
