In
this journey, entering the Island preferably by the Straits of Dover
R~ (or London Airports, S~ at a push), one goes straight to
Canterbury. From there the Outer Circle is anti-clockwise, ie London
S~, and then perhaps an urban tour: as most of the cities of this
island are coastal, the distinction is happily subtle;’ but the
inner circle is coastal and the outer circle is slightly inland:
