*The
sermon,** preached by a Deacon who seemed to be a retired teacher,
offered a helpful translation of the Greek word commonly translated
by ‘transfiguration’, as ‘transformation’. (Metamorphosis?)
As Peter’s confession*** and the Transfiguration**** are commonly
regarded as the turning-point of Mark’s and Matthew’s Gospels,
this translation indicates [sic]
the change between two circles of half-cycle length.
But
if this is a normal transformation from Outer to Inner Circle, why
does Jesus’ mission begin with Baptism (inner circle) and end with
Martydom (outer circle)? I think the answer is the same as for the
cycle of his mission as a whole:# that if Jesus was using an inner
structure equivalent to the Circle pattern, he balanced inner and
outer circle contra-rotation for his whole mission: but perhaps
emphasised the inner aspect on the first half by a predominant inner
circle for that half-cycle, and an outer aspect for the second half
by predominant outer cycle for that half-cycle. Clearly he knew what
to expect at the end and led towards it, explicitly from about the
time of the Transfiguration onwards.
If
this analysis has merit, it would show a most unusual, perhaps
unique, case of a superficial Lucifer-point fall, as if from Heaven,
inspired by a contra-rotating spiritual transformation at the
balancing Transformation point – because the Fall is not for
himself, but for others, which is the essence of self-sacrifice.

Matthew
16:13-20:
13
When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his
disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
14
And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias;
and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15
He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of
the living God.
17
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon
Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my
Father which is in heaven.
18
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I
will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against
it.
19
And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and
whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and
whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
20
Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he
was Jesus the Christ.

James Version (KJV))

Matthew
17:1-8:
17:1
And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother,
and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
2
And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun,
and his raiment was white as the light.
3
And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with
him.
4
Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to
be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for
thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
5
While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and
behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son,
in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
6
And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were
sore afraid.
7
And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
8
And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus
only.
(King
James Version (KJV))
