This sort of thing* presents tremendous problems, in the context of a reaction in his** end of the Christian faith against any other kind of religious or 'mind-science' experience or research (other than to defeat it) at all – including Roman Catholicism, whose adherents he considered, in answer to my express question, not to be Christians as such (They might conceivably be Christian despite being Roman Catholic). This man's** kindliness towards my present state of awareness, which he judges (at my invitation) largely by the contents of my 'religious' bookcase (Christianity at the top, 'occult' at the bottom), arises partly out of his genuine desire to help, partly out of his own experience of passing through all sorts of phases including Hinduism, LSD, and 'wizardry' (or at least the initial stages).

I think that if he read the contents of this journal he would describe them (as he describes Hinduism) as demonology. In a sense – in the sense that I, like Hinduism (as he also perceives Hinduism), try to make sense of everything I can, he would be right to include demonology among the things I investigate. But I understand Christ to be ultimately paramount*** in all the Worlds.**** The aspects of these Worlds (or Planes) which are far from Christ (like those Worlds themselves which are separated from God the Spirit) exist: if they did not, why should these people fear them so? The demons of these degrees, whatever the nature of their reality, are worshipped, adored, pursued, followed by multitudes who never enter a Church or Temple of any kind, as well as by many who do. Given that we are in the World, is it better that Christ should govern the activities of the Spirits far from him – or ignore them?
