{Art and Game}[12th March 1988]

*The question: What is the Art of the M~ hemisphere? – may have already been partially answered in discussion** of sport and games-playing – at least as far as U~-types are concerned. The correspondence is imprecise because (I think) of the way the Circles work in this context: the M~ hemisphere's recreation (after analytical thought) is perhaps the G~ hemisphere's re-creation, a form of expression of inspirational thought.

If that location of games and sports is correct, one might expect individual sports near one end of the hemisphere, team sports near the other – but it is not clear to me exactly which end is which! Instinct (or Intuition) initially suggested: Teams at U~, Individuals at S~ (and Captains at M~?) – but I think Intuition (or Instinct) might be wrong here.

S~ represents (Outer) Ordination (organisation) and (Inner) Harmony: extraverts are found here. Wouldn't team games make more sense there [sic]? – corresponding perhaps to the 'team art' of musicians in performance at R~, working together,* whereas actors (if they are nearer A~ than +C†I~ on the G~ hemisphere) work sequentially, interleaved*** (the computer analogy, I suppose, is between parallel and serial processing of multiple tasks; and the sporting equivalent of acting, a relay race?).

**(I note that 'discussion' also means to eat with enjoyment.)

***[Having recently undertaken some minor parts in Shakespearean theatre – this does not now seem wholly uncontroversial.... <20171110>]
