{The Centre Point: Here, and There}[8th December 1984]

[continued]

The two-dimensional representation of the essentially four-pointed cross of matter upon which these wheels revolve disguises the three-dimensional nature of the pattern: if the Universe is* in the two dimensions. There are not four, not even five but six points: North, South, East, West, Centre Here, and Centre There. From Centre There all spring, and to it all return: via Singularity (This is nothing to do with Expanding v. Contracting Universes: remember that, for example, No Rule ==> 1 Rule ==> Some Rules ==> Many Rules ==> All Rules ==> 1 Rule ==> No Rule; or, Art starts with a blank sheet, develops through simple lines and complexity to the simplicity of genius and so ultimately to a blank sheet). Here, the ideal is Centre Here: the analogous position, around which the Wheels turn without moving it, and** on the same axis as Centre There: which, however, is the other side of Death.

*[represented (– presumably)]

**[i.e. which is]
