{The Cross}[7th June 1980]

The interesting point which emerges from a little examination of the various popular sources of symbolism as archetype – e.g. The Bible (particularly Revelations), The Tarot, the various Pantheons and general mythology – is that the double pair symbolised by the Cross (and personified for me in +C and +Mk, +M and +K) is found again and again throughout the ages. The two pairs are rarely confused with each other – nor should they be, since they are of different Orders. The second pair (+M and +K) are sometimes slightly confused by overlap of some of their 'fringe' symbols – as one might expect, since Action and Revelation often work with each other, and neither is of much use without some of the other. The first pair (+C and +Mk) are consistently confused in their symbols, and indeed in their very natures, since those natures are almost impossible for Man bound within the World truly to comprehend – particularly since they are together both Duality (personified in +Mk) and Unity (personified in +C).
