On the whole, I think In and Out (i.e. distance from centre) must represent nearness to and separation from God, the Spirit, at the Centre, the One, as one can envisage Separation moving outwards from the Spirit through Soul to Body or Matter. However, I think that Separation is the great invention (perhaps sustained by Spin) which permeates Creation: and so it is also found in a different way in the Vertical Polarity, Up and Down (The Horizontal Polarity, Left-Right, has perhaps less to do with Separation than with Change).
