{Comparative Chronology}[27th October 1990]

[Redbook8:44-67][19901027ff]{Comparative Chronology}[27th October 1990]

19901027ff, 1991 (&c)

[These 24 pages (12 double-page spreads) contain a time-chart from 4096bce (with 64-year intervals marked every 4 lines down the left side) and regions of the world as headers across the tops of the pages, starting with ‘EUROPE General’ on the left of the left pages and ending with ‘WORLD General’ on the right of the right-hand pages, with countries of Europe and other regions of the World being added as headers as the time-line proceeds to 2048ce. The chart is, naturally, sparse at first but becomes towards the end increasingly crowded and untidy with tinier and tinier writing, mostly in red or blue but also in green or black. Broadly speaking, the possible cyclical patterns identified elsewhere in these volumes appear to be shown in this chart. Transcribing all this would be an immense labour which would probably serve no useful purpose, while scans alone would almost certainly not render the writing legible and might overload the software. Introductory or general footnotes, however, have been transcribed here.]

[General/introductory notes on p44:]

Sources: E[ncyclopaedia] B[ritannica], [The] E[ncyclopaedia of] V[isual] A[rt].

This rudimentary comparative history chart for C[ircles] A[nalysis] and S[ynthesis] is intended to be filled in over a long period from the heading date.

Dates of additions are not generally given.

Unfortunately, I think I have changed the symbol system during this period eg initially > probably means ‘defeats’ whereas later (per spreadsheet)* it can mean ‘attacked and was defeated by’! – the colour is probably more significant** in this chart, although my understanding of the C[ircles] A[nalysis] and S[ynthesis] significance of events has also evolved and changed considerably. (See note in XIII. [] 70) <911026>

[Note at end of p67:]

{(No more entries after c[19]9202)}

*[Unclear to what this refers; possibly an attempt to produce something similar on a spreadsheet]

**[ie than the symbols, presumably]
