Being about to read and improvise the Intercessory Prayers this * morning – which had, as it happened, been what my greatest reservations were about – I said (silently): ‘Tell me what to say, and I’ll say it.’ – and found myself improvising the introductions to the prayers without significant problems (just a couple of early stumbles).
