This interpretation* perhaps(!) throws some light on the course of Christianity: the Prophets (and Greek thought) lead up to it, and Christ should produce a turn-around: at first things seem finely balanced, but under the influence of, first, the Judaic tradition of law and authority;** and, then, the Roman ditto; the outer circle prevails – although there is still a contra[-]rotating element (I believe) – and Ordination is preferred to Love.
