The symbolism* seems fairly clear, to my pre-suppositions: the meaning being (I guess) basically that at a certain point problems arise and joining a busier line may require a reversal. It is tempting, in my context, to see the tunnel as the death-rebirth** (R~-C~-R~) process presumed passed, the [...][preserved railway] line as the present Inner Circle progress (G~ hemisphere), the junction as A~, the main line as the Outer Circle, and the high-level 'narrow gauge' line as the Inner Circle again.

The warning would then be against trying to rejoin the low-level line of pre-occupations etc. at this point (where the high level line is fragile), as this would involve a reversal of development. In Circles analysis, a change of direction may be possible at A~ through contra-rotational change of emphasis; but the main change of direction comes at R~-C~-R~.

If I thought myself to be before C~ on the Outer Circle,**** I could read this dream quite differently:# i.e. reverse onto the main line here, the other line is dangerous, etc.. #*

Here, as in II: [[[Redbook2:341-343][19840702:0830]{A Dream: The Right Lines}[2nd July1984]f]] 341-3, the first interpretation has been diametrically wrong, largely because of assumptions made made in the dream about compass directions. Possibly, A~ is naturally North and C~ South. [as in the [...]land]
