[Redbook4:252][19871221:1955b]{The
Tarot Pack [continued
(4)]}[21st
December 1987]

[continued]
The
pattern* would be complicated by the reverse-rotating Knights Circle.
Perhaps this would serve to protect the Inner Circle(s) – Queens
and Kings, whatever Kings is – from the forces associated with
Knaves and Numbers – rather as Knights in mythological and military
might surround and protect their King and Queen from Knaves and
general infantrymen. But this is pure speculation.**
In
fact Knaves may not move that much, or at all.
[A
diagram inserted in the text to the full height and width of both A4
pages here is, with its added notes and diagrams, barely decipherable
and too large and complicated to represent here in full detail. The
basic diagram is a development of the diagram on the journal entry
before last, [Redbook4:251][19871221:0000g]{The Tarot Pack
[continued]}[21st
December 1987], but including the full pack. For reasons of space
Roman
numerals (Tarot Greater Trumps card numbers 0
& I to XXI)
are here represented by bold
Arabic numerals 0
&
1
to
21,
and bracketed numerals
(1) to (4)
by italic numerals 1 to 4. Arrows and added notes in the ms. diagram
are not shown here.

*[See
last three previous entries.]
**[!]
{Note:
King of Swords has face on each shoulder, like Chariot – but happy
or contented faces, unlike Chariot. Knight of Swords has one [extra]
face, on one shoulder, neither happy nor unhappy?}
{Headgear:
[oo] (1) [Horizontal ‘Eight’
(Infinity)
[w]
(2) Crown
[h]
(3) Helmet
etc.
[o]
(4) Bare headed (some have haloes)
[Against
each line (1) to (4) are set the apparent signifiers for Greater
Trumps and Court Cards, but apparent interchanging between different
sets of signifiers make these difficult to understand.]
I
cannot make much sense of this.
(1)
[oo] is associated with c.A~ + Kings (et al).
(2)
[w] appears all over the Outer Circle – not just top; & for
Queens.
(3)
[h] varies.
(4)
[o] predominates near completion
on Inner Circle (& all
Angels)
Headgear
T0-XXI: Haloes seem to denote completion – spiritual perfection? –
power over self? [–] & bare heads immediately precede them.
Material headgear seems to denote power in Outer World: e.g.? Crown
is nearly always 9in whole Pack) as if a Circle from end-on.
See
[[Redbook4:301][19880109:1445]{Hats}[9th
January 1988],] p301.}

This
is rather uncertain but generally fits the diagram [on this page.
{Note:
Ace of Swords and Ace of Clubs are strikingly similar with vertical
orientation, (spirit?) hand holding (one from left (both
right-handed), one from right), and fire. Ace of Swords alone has
crown.}
Note
that the 6-spoked wheel of of TX (+ 2 horizontal beasts) is repeated
by the 8-pointed Star (surrounded by 7 stars) of TVII immediately
above. Auriga, the celestial Chariot driver, is just after TX between
A~ & J~; Bootes, the plough driver,
is nearer to M~. <880108>
{Note
that TX Wheel of Fortune has male-dressed beast going round towards
top creature and female-dressed beast going round away
from it. This is correct both for A~ I/c Outer Circle & +C†I~
I/c Inner Circle.}
