In a snatch of a dream this morning... I got into a train at a terminus which may or may not have been Paddington [station], but felt at once that it was the wrong train: in fact it was, because it was about to go to somewhere which might have been called Tewkesbury (near which, ie Pershore area,* we have begun to look for a house), whereas my train** was to go, I think, further to the south/south-west.


I knew it was wrong, as I told the railwayman when I was about to get off (the train not having started to move), because although [W] and I had got on to what we thought was the same carriage, we found ourselves separated in adjoining and unconnected compartments.* I also knew because the train had only two carriages.
