*… I’m only sorry that [W]’s hormonal deficiency (apparently since before [s]’s birth,** and now reckoned by the doctor to be the beginning of ***an incredibly early*** Change of Life), and the consequent lack of emotional and financial stability,**** should have thwarted my attempts in the last five years to get to grips with, and #contribute to, those#* specialisations (basically, maths, philosophy and psychology).
I am managing to overcome the resentment I have been feeling recently about this: it does no good, and is perilously like a diversion of what I had felt about my parents, onto [W]. But I may be forgiven: it is rotten luck.
