Outside, on the plain again,* I looked to the right of our new house. There might have been another building, a type of lodge perhaps, to the right of my line of vision: if so, it was only briefly noted.** But our own new house was filled with people: they seemed to be queueing to get in,*** and I wondered whether I had been mistaken in thinking we had already bought it:**** the visitors seemed to be viewing the property.#

But directly ahead, half way between our new house and the possible lodge, a motorway (with cars?) emerged from underground#* (on the line of the old grand house) and led on a slight rise (and? curve?) toward an enormous Church or Cathedral on the horizon:#** a little like the Abbey Church at Pershore,#*** but so vast that it seemed near even though it must have been far distant: looking in retrospect a little like a mediaeval fairy Castle, or the Heavenly City, but definitely a Church [sic].

**To the right of [A] (looking forward) the next house to our building, a detached house, has just gone up for sale – after we moved in, but planned beforehand. It is of similar style to ours. <920620>

[This seems to refer to the detached house on the left looking at the [A] building from the front. The house on the right, a smaller detached house at the start of a lane to other properties (including the back of [A], was unoccupied, and was put up for sale not long afterwards.]

***Were they also moving across to the ?Lodge?

#If this was the Old Court House [at Llan[...]], its price remained unchanged when everyone else’s was falling.... we can see it across the flood plain from one of the 2^nd floor rooms [at [A]] <920620> [a few hundred yards away].

#*[A] is, of course, quite high above the edge of the A[...] T[runk road], which does indeed rise and curve away to the right at the front of the house. <920620>
