Certainly
one should not underestimate the revelatory powers on the edge of
sleep:* seeming in my case to give rise to a certain kind of vision
at the beginning of daytime sleep, and a certain kind of dream near
the end of night-time sleep.

In
fact this diagram, which has been used earlier** to describe the
working day, does not tell the whole story here. Viewpoints are
important: the descent to A represents
oblivion from C, at least on the outer circle [sic],
and when you are near C, outer A~ seems like a nightmare.
