[continued]
Drifting
off into a doze a short time ago, I became on the edge of it aware of
the Universe evolving as a continuing and random-seeming pattern of
star-systems* and even solar-systems being created and destroyed in
relative isolation, concurrently and consecutively, like tiny bubbles
within the great bubble which is the life of the Universe itself; and
within which, some solar systems like ours would for a time support
and evolve life to a level of refinement sufficient to contribute a
new thing in the sight of God.
The
vision, of course, was far more concise than this and consisted not
only of a changing inner image but of an associated feeling or
quality (or qualities compounded), all of which together seem to have
given rise to the idea.**
*[Presumably
meaning systems wider than & including the solar systems
mentioned next, eg galaxies.].
**(ie
rather than the idea coming first – I think.)
