It
was a great moment yesterday when I
(a)
got the Rollright*-Stonehenge line to roughly cross the Mound at
Marlborough (later getting it – I hope – exactly) and
(b)
following the Stonehenge horizontal and the Rollright vertical,
crossed them at a place called Sarsen Wood. I imagine that even if
the stones have long since been broken for roads, there is unlikely
to be any other explanation than the one-time presence of Sarsen
Stones....
*(I
only learnt about the Rollright Stones a month or so before this, and
only found their grid reference while writing '[1]'.<19830510.2045>.
– I think from New Scientist re ultra-sonic (?) properties of the
Stones (copy lost).)
